A year ago, a fire left him without his workplace. Today, he is back in business and has even hired and employee.
 

 

Matías is a 29 year old baker. He has been working in his house for 10 years, in a room with a tin roof and wooden walls. When he approached Fundación Progresar, his first credits were used to buy two ovens and trays in order to increase his bread and pastry production. Matias also grew personally given he participated in training courses dictated by PPC where he learnt how to gain a better control of his Business and how to improve his deliveries and organization.

A year ago his workplace caught fire. He lost the ovens, trays, raw material, building and with them, Matias also lost his dreams and growth projects. Fundación Progresar kept supporting him because we relieve that such livelihoods can be rebuilt and that working together we can change reality. Consequently, we granted new credits for new ovens, the main tool for him to restart work. His credit group also supported him, helping Matias get new Tools, as did his family, reorganising the family kitchen so he could start working there. The flour salesmen, selling him raw material at lower prices so he could slowly restart his business.
Only a year alter the fire, Matias was not only able to regain his customers, but is also finish the rebuilding of his workplace, all made of more solid material. He has also hired an employee to help him in his business, which is growing thanks to the support received and Matias’s hard work and will to progress.
